

You have a painting partner...
Hi again... This is the painting that was accepted into the National Watercolor Society that led to becoming a signature member. I'm honored to be part of that organization. Painting this, I believe is why I love watercolor as my medium of choice. You've heard it before but it really painted itself. Plastic wrap & watercolor
My upcoming workshop will feature some tried and true techniques including plastic wrap. Watercolor is all about illusion and using plastic wrap can give you some exciting textures. In the painting above I've used crinkled plastic wrap for the trees and foliage on the upper left. I also used it for creating the foundation for the water by stretching it horizontially. Have fun experimenting!


A little history
I used to have a blog on Wordpress, and still might have but haven't checked it for years. With this new website it made sense to change over. My previous blog was more about my students and less about me as I enjoyed showing their work and giving everyone the sense that watercolor was worth pursuing as it's such a fun, enjoyable and forgiving medium.
