This demo painting for a student was all about the drawing. It all has to start with a good drawing and design. No matter how good you are with color, technique,shapes and values if the drawing isn't there you won't be happy. Keep AND USE a sketchbook...

Just had a workshop on "How to save a painting" This was a paint-over to show, not tell a student how it might be improved. Challenging but fun!
